Care Instructions
Cow Hide Weaving
Please note that this material does not have a protective layer, thus it will stain if food or wine is spilt on it. We recommend that you apply the Maxi Leather Care Kit - CAREKIT001 for protection.
- Frequent light dusting is recommended as dust and soil can be abrasive and potentially damage the finishing of your leather.
- Occasional wiping with a warm and slightly damp clean cloth will prevent dust and oils from building up.
- Surface marks can be removed with a clean white eraser.
PLEASE NOTE:
Raw leather weaving items do not have any protective layer and will stain if you spill food or wine on it.
We have tested the following product: CAREKIT001 Maxi Leather Care Kit protection on the raw leather weaving and found that it is barely noticeable once it is dry and because it is a water based product it does not affect the teak wood.
Please note that if the leather weaving has not been protected as above and something spills on it, the stain will not come out even with the leather cleaner, so it would be advisable to do the protection before it gets stained.
Also remember that with the leather care kit, if you have applied protection and then used the leather cleaning kit to remove a mark, the protection must be reapplied on that area again.
- Blot excess liquid immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge.
- Do not rub. If necessary, use clear, lukewarm water and gently wipe the spill.
- Dry with a clean towel and allow to air dry.
- *STUBBORN SPOTS & STAINS*
- Use a mild solution of non-detergent soap (use a soap you would use on your face) and clear, lukewarm water in a 1:10 solution.
- Apply with a clean, damp sponge, then rinse the area of the spot or stain well and let it air dry naturally.
- Always try the cleaning method on a concealed area first to be certain of colour fastness.
